GRAND SEIKO 5646-7010
’56GS’
Introduced in 1970, the 5645/46-7010/11 line of watches was to become the ‘bread and butter’ reference for the Grand Seiko range of watches. It was produced in large quantities and was seen almost as a replacement for the late 1960’s ’61GS’ range of watches, due in part to the favoured 56xx movements reliability over the 61xx.
This is a sharp example, exhibiting no major flaws anywhere on the watch with the exception of some markings on the caseback from when it had been opened in the past, and a very small, very faint freckle near 1 o’clock. The dial has aged to a fine enamel shade of white. The case is well defined, prominently displaying the fundamentals of the Grammar of Design Grand Seiko has become so well known for. To top it off, the medallion is in exceptional condition and the quickset day/date is working as it should.
This watch was serviced in November 2022.
