CARAVELLE SEAHUNTER

‘DEVIL DIVER’

Nicknamed “Devil Diver” for its depth rating of 666ft, this Caravelle Seahunter dates to the early 1970’s and it’s age (and charm) definitely shows. This is a well worn example resulting in it exhibiting plenty of rugged vintage character nearly 49yrs later. And being a dive watch, that’s just alright.

The case has several scratches and a few nicks. The bezel insert has faded to burgundy (appears black in certain lighting) and has seen some rough encounters. The time only, explorer style dial is in pristine condition and has aged wonderfully. The lume is free of rot, and the lollipop seconds hand as aged to a beautiful orange tone, differentiating itself from the rest of the lume colour on the dial. The non-screw down crown is original and operating as it should. The acrylic crystal is free of any major scratches, with the exception of on that runs across the 6 o’clock marker.

This is a great way to seamlessly incorporate an “explorer” style dial into any collection. It wears incredibly well due to its 36.5mm case and 20mm lug width. 3 additional links are included with the bracelet. A Citizen re-worked manual wound movement is housed inside, and was serviced in April 2020.
