In recent years, there have been several watches to have been introduced that resonated so well with their intended audience. Some immediate references that come to mind are the Oris Divers Sixty-Five, the Seiko SPB143, and the now (in)famous MoonSwatch. The brands behind these hit references have all put plenty of thought into giving their audience precisely what they wanted, in an attainable, well proportioned, bang-for-your buck package. The Grand Seiko SBGM221 is another that was an instant hit amongst watch enthusiasts, and is not exempt from the aforementioned list of qualities. Grand Seiko truly delivered a modern classic.

Well proportioned is precisely where this watch really captures the wearer. At 39.5mm, it sits in a sweet spot to accommodate a variety of wrist sizes. A simple and refined (yet tasteful) dial layout that gives you everything you need and nothing you don’t, even a date window, and you’ve got something that truly defines the term “form and function”. To add to the list, Grand Seiko decided to expose the well finished movement housed within by way of a see-through caseback. 

This is example is in great condition, having seen very little wear in the past from its prior owner. It is free of any major dings, blemishes, or scratches, and only has some hairline scratches present. The OEM crocodile leather is still in beautiful shape and wears well. 

This watch will come with its original box and papers.
