OMEGA GENEVE

‘CHRONOSTOP’

The Omega Chronostop isn’t often celebrated in a world overshadowed by Speedmasters and Seamasters. It is however, a watch that can’t help but pique one’s curiosity because of its surprisingly alluring design and unexpected charm.

Debuting in 1966, the Omega Chronostop positioned itself as a quality timing mechanism at an affordable price point, hence its simple design. Housed inside is the reliable Omega calibre 865 manual wind movement, operated by a single start/stop pusher. It’s a lovely watch all round, and there’s plenty more to admire about this piece.

This example comes in excellent, all original condition.  Starting with the case; It appears to be unpolished, and has the odd small nick but nothing significant. The bezel brushing is still visible and prominent. The crown has some damage to it, but is original and operates as it should. Dial condition is excellent, and the lume plots have developed a beautifully saturated custard colour. The handset is untouched, and the sweeping chronograph/seconds hand is vibrant and as orange as it ever was. Chronograph functions exceptionally well, and the watch is running an impressive ±1 second/day in the dial up position. The crystal is original, and the Omega horseshoe can still be seen at the center of the handset. There is some dust and debris stuck on the underside of the crystal, however nothing significant to cause the watch any harm.

It will be paired with it’s original Omega mesh bracelet, signed No. 27.
